Mechanical Design
Most products are conceived from an idea. This then develops into a sketch.
From this sketch, it can go both ways, into the wastepaper basket, or become
the next application everyone talks about. At the Mechanical Engineering
Section, we try to make this sketch work. Our engineers will work closely
with our Clients to ensure that their idea become the product that they’ve
only dreamed about.

Mechanical Evaluation
To ensure product quality, we also specialise in the mechanical evaluation
of the product, ensuring that the designed product not only works but
conforms to most international standards and is marketable to all parts of
the world.

Finite Element Analysis
To provide accurate product behaviour prediction, CPG Labs utilises
state-of-the-art finite element analysis software. This gives us an insight as
to how the product design might behave and make changes before the final
proto-type design is fabricated.

Modal and Fatigue Analysis
Physical systems are often subjected to vibration. The frequencies at which
vibration naturally occurs, and the modal shapes, which the vibrating system
assumes, are properties of the system, and can be determined analytically
using Modal Analysis.
Analysis of vibration modes is a critical component of a design, but is
often overlooked.
Inherent vibration modes in mechanical support systems can shorten equipment
life, and cause premature or completely unanticipated failure, often
resulting in disastrous situations. Detailed fatigue analysis is often
required to assess the potential for failure or damage resulting from these
rapid stress cycles of vibration.
With our finite element analysis expertise, we are able to model such
behaviors, isolate the probable problem areas and improve on the design
before production.
